2 Peninsula 5.08

Living near the Wirral which is a peninsula, the Dee estuary, especially when misty, has an a strange presence. The salt water washes in and out over the marsh at high tides. Nothing too dramatic, except occasionally when it floods. It has an interesting light quality over the saltmarsh which is full of wild birds. It is both windy and calm and can be very striking depending on the weather, especially around the times of the high tides and winter storms. But sometimes when it is deserted, bar the old, ruined, abandoned boats with there flaky weather beaten paint, it’s strangely poetic.
