Composing this piece the main theme was composed a long time ago, its early beginnings were at Trinity spiritual centre in Ealing London I lived in Culmington Road. it had a battered up old piano that I used to play this anthem on, way back in 1980, this melody was called at that time “The Freedom Anthem” so it was appropriate to use this simple melody as the main structure, I also gained inspiration from walking cliffs by Arish Mell where I live in Dorset, which is closed some days as the army use it for shelling, this is depicted within the piece by a low bass drum. Arish Mell has a unique balance of army presence, mixed with the beauty of nature, with its cliffs, sea, wildlife, ships and tanks, which seem to co-exist side by side within Arish Mell.

I used a Roland MC-909 (believe it or not a Hip-hop machine) which was triggered by keyboard and Godin Guitar & a full orchestra sound-card it was all composed in real time, meaning no computer notes or copy and paste
